Therapeutic based non-academic physical activity therapy for out of control children.
Be Super provide therapeutic based non-academic physical activity therapy for out of control children.
This is not an out of school alternative provision that you use to simply ‘get the kids out of school’ – it is more focused and purposeful than that.
Hidden therapeutic provision:
This provision is a 6 to 12 week therapeutic experience for out of control children, that is hidden within, non-academic therapeutic physical activity sessions or creative experiences. The experience is delivered as a sequence of increasing challenges and creativity – delivered sufficient to be enticing, but not enough to take them beyond their coping zone. The experience is supported by building self awareness, and awareness of others and relationships.
Raising Levels of Consciousness:
This may sound a little deep, however, this process is proven in being effective in transitioning pupils through the lower levels of consciousness. We transition them from states such as elimination, destruction, abdication, despondence, withdrawal, enslavement, aggression, and inflammation – to a state of empowerment.
Our work also increases their zones of resilience and nurtures their ability to better self-regulate.
As can be seen from the info-graphic below, therapeutic based non-academic physical activity therapy for out of control children, takes from a downward spiral direction, to an upward spiral direction that is much more positive.
From a negative downward spiral to a more positive upward spiral:
Feeling a little overwhelmed is good, then feeling frustrated or pessimistic is normal; then when boredom kicks in – we are making great progress. From here we have to progress through feeling contended – and this is a significant stabilising period of adjustment. It is not a time to move back into mainstream class, as this will cause a u-turn. It is a time to nurture and develop hope, optimism, positive beliefs and some enthusiasm for life and for self esteem.
The activities are geared to suit the pupils – everyone in unique and likes different things – the starting point is to do what they enjoy so they feel positive, safe and trusting in us.
Building resilience:
Our activities seek to nurture social communication and interaction. The therapists create non challenging physical partnerships with the young people. By gradually increasing their abilities and confidence, the therapists also build their resilience to change and new challenges. We show them how to interact with the various parts within themselves on a physical, mental and emotional basis. This lays the foundation for accepting and dealing with more academic and social challenges and issues. The pupils will learn advanced deep breathing techniques. These enhance both physical performance, mental cognition, and enhances calmness and alleviates stress.
We also provide other services that may be more relevant to your needs, such as:
- Short to medium term therapeutic interventions – with and without academic support.
- Short, medium & long term EOTAS (Education Other Than At School) – therapy based.
- Whole school and care home support and solutions for high ace challenges (out of control).
